On the 8th the rebels sent down a flag of truce conveying a matter of $600 in greenbacks to the crew of the recaptured Bombshell. We learned from the officers that the Captain of the ram was wounded and that as soon as the ram was repaired a little they would give us another trial.

We must refer to the letter of our correspondent for the latest items from Gen. LEE's army. It will be seen that nothing of serious importance has transpired since the great battle of Thursday last, except, perhaps, the movement of the enemy upon Massaponax Church, already announced by Gen. LEE, and the meaning of which will soon be developed. Gen. Lee has issued a most encouraging series of congratulatory orders to his army, which will be found in the letters alluded to.
