Land O'Lakes Inc., a farmer-owned food and agricultural cooperative, said today that it had acquired a California cheese plant from the Beatrice Group unit of ConAgra Inc. to add to its mozzarella and cream-cheese businesses. Financial terms were not disclosed. The 70,000-square-foot plant in Gustine has 169 employees. Under terms of the sale, Land O'Lakes, which is based in Arden Hills, Minn., will enter into a co-packaging agreement for cream cheese with Beatrice.
